My own journey began early. Around the age of five, I remember quietly asking myself, “Why am I here? What am I supposed to do?” I grew up labeling myuself “Christian” and in my twenties received the gift of speakng in tongues. As amilitary wife, I moved often and found church homes mostly in Evangelical spaces. All the while, I leaned on my God-given intuition and discernment. But over time, I began to feel a deep dissonance - a pull away from the institution of religion, even as I remained anchored in God’s presence.

In 2020, amid the upheaval of COVID and the tragic death of George Floyd, I wrestled with whether my shift was simply born from anger as an African American woman. With prayer and time, I came to know this change was Spirit-led. I’ve unboxed my faith and no longer limit it with man-made labels or defend acts committed under the name of Christianity that do not reflect the heart of God. Jesus Himself was not a Christian - He was the embodiment of Spirit and truth.
